Natalia Alamdari

Natalia Alamdari is a water reporting fellow at The Texas Tribune. She is a graduate student at the University of Missouri, where she also received her bachelor's degree in journalism. For the past five years, she's bounced around the Midwest, covering the Missouri legislature for the Columbia Missourian and also reporting for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and Omaha World-Herald. Born and raised in Houston, she is happy to return to her home state where she can always find a good taco.

She's tasked with emergency planning at the Port of Corpus Christi. A year after Harvey, her community continues to rebuild.

While Danielle Hale managed the emergency operations center at the Port of Corpus Christi during Hurricane Harvey, her family evacuated their Rockport home. A year later, she and her family continue to help Rockport rebuild, while the port continues to fine-tune its emergency preparedness plans.
