Haley Samsel

Haley Samsel is the D.C. reporting fellow for the Texas Tribune. She is a junior at American University in Washington, where she studies international relations and journalism. Before coming to the Tribune, Haley interned for NPR's education desk and USA TODAY's college platform. This year, she has served as the news editor for her university's student newspaper, The Eagle. As a native Texan, Haley misses Tex-Mex desperately when in D.C. and enjoys rooting for her hometown Dallas Mavericks from afar.

Texans in U.S. House send letter to Senate urging vote on Harvey relief

A dozen U.S. House members from Texas sent a letter to leaders in the U.S. Senate Thursday urging quick action on a bill that would provide billions more in Hurricane Harvey relief, calling the bill "critical to the lives and livelihoods of our constituents and the nation at large."
