is an audience engagement fellow at The Texas Tribune. Previously, Forrest interned at the Dallas Morning News on their politics team, the Texas Observer on their audience team, and at the Houston Chronicle covering state politics, as well as at the San Antonio Express-News on the paper's metro desk and the Austin American-Statesman, where he covered the 85th legislative session. As he approaches the end of his senior year at the University of Texas at Austin, Forrest has also worked way too many semesters at his school's paper, The Daily Texan, where he currently serves as managing editor. A longtime Dallas local, he's excited to take another break from his hometown, where the shopping malls are aplenty and the traffic is awful — but not as bad as Austin.
